The speed at which a computer is able to process data is controlled by several factors. Some of these are:
The type of application being used
The amount of memory installed on the computer
The speed and type of microprocessor installed
The amount of L1,L2 and L3 cache
The speed of the front side bus. IE, the computer's internal speed.
